The Media

 Skinny, tall, perfect complection, pretty
All the things people need to be.
Who determines this you ask?
This is the Media's job, its task.

We are fed daily, the "perfect" image
Where the ground we walk on is the stage
Everyone around are the audience and judges
And if you dare look prettier, they hold grudges.

But our idea's of the "perfect" image has been distorted.
And how we look determines how we are sorted.
But non if it is real, it is all fake stories.
Thou still, we are sorted into categories.

Ugly; fat, pimples, yellowed teeth, hair that's frizzy
Pretty; tall perfect complection, perfect hair, skinny
Who determines this you ask?
This is the Media's job, its task.

Have you ever wondered how many lives?
How many lives have been ended under these skies?
Have you ever woundered the reason their lives ended?
Their idea of the "perfect" image has been broke and couldn't be mended.

But this is the Media's version,
An unatainable image, the image of "perfection"
But no one can ever be perfect.
Because no matter what, everyone has a defect.

Skinny, tall, perfect complection, pretty.
All the things people need to be.
Who determines this you ask?
This is the Media's job, its task.
